Go one step smaller with the gt35r unless your going to run 11:1 compression and/or have a goal of 675+whp... Its going to be a very peaky turbo setup with some good spool up times.
I think anything over about 350hp is over kill on the street, especialy in a fwd. I bet a gt28r would be a lot of fun on a h22. I don't know exactly how what the H22 flows, but I would guess that it would like about 15-22 psi out of this guy.
I think it sounds like a grand idea, hell becuase of the lag it'll act as a boost by gear setup, the more of a load it'll have the faster it'll go just buy it and put it in.
