Ha Ha HA : The guy in the Mustang had a poor launch and started zig zagging but at the end almost caught up to the CRX . The race with the Camaro just shows that the guy in the fwd car had to hold back on the power until he got probably above 60 mph and only then could he fully utilize his full engine power and overtake the Camaro with his lite car that probably had a much better power/ weight ratio . I am not into drag racing which is why I guess I own a Prelude so this is a observation coming from someone who's knowledge of drag racing is limited .

I already can tell that your knowledge is very limited. Building car and making its something new/different is part of what enthusiasts do... regardless of platform. FWD preludes with 400+whp can still have fun at an autocross track as well. First video is of a member on these boards doing just that. Last video is proof that you can build whatever it is that you want. That is a FWD eclipse destroying the competition of both RWD and AWD cars.

I just thought I would repost a sentence from my original post to clarify my position . I feel the need for boost is limited ONLY when driving short auto cross tracks or or back public winding roads assuming your not a physcio . lol

REPOST :

"""Boost for people who drive short auto cross tracks or back public winding roads to me is like VIAGRA for your engine . Its for guys who can’t keep ( the rpms and inertia ) it up . Lol """"

Any high powered car is going to want to race from a roll on the street and any car is going to spin tires after a certain point. I've seen AWD's do it to but that's a little different.

Mmmm Boost by gear baby!

Wait what? Boost is for guys that can't keep up?

Since when is cylinder efficiency a bad thing?

wtf is the point of this thread? Is he saying boost is cheating? Are we not allowed to improve upon the performance of our vehicles in a certain aspect if that is not what they were originally intended for? Can a Camaro not autocross? Can a civic not drag? Are trucks allowed for anything but hauling?

Dude you should have worked on the design team for the new Camaro. They could have saved alot of weight knowing that the car didn't need to handle well, just go in a straight line.

1: Of coarse its not cheating .If you wanted to cheat you would have to put a muffler on the output of your blow off valve . lol

2: I guess some people buy a car not knowing exactly what they want and later choose to modify which is ok but on a short track or a back public road in a 2nd-5th gen Prelude its really not needed if your a proficient driver .
3: Right know if I wanted a great car to fix up to haul stuff I would buy a truck . If wanted a drag car to fix up I would buy a Mustang Cobra , and as someone who gets his rocks off on back roads , I of coarse own a Prelude . Why not just start with something that is basically designed to do what you want it to do and go from there . Its so much easer . I mean like someone could of coarse take a Moped and turn it into a scary machine for example but I am sorry because I just to dim to get the point of it . lol

Well I love 5th gen preludes and that is why I bought one but it isn't fast enough for me in the straights so I would like to improve on that. It's not a matter of just doing it, I just want to improve on what it is weak at to make it a well rounded car.

I find most of the fun is in cornering . In a 5th gen Prelude if you exit most corners near or at the limits of the car you can find your self going at go to jail speeds in less then 2 seconds after exiting the conner in a 4th or 5th gen lude and within 3s on a 2nd of 3rd gen lude . Think about it .By only exceeding the speed limit near , thru and out of corners I find my chances of getting caught by radar very low . Thats why boost is irrelevant to the experienced driver on a winding public road .

I definitely opened this thread hoping to learn something about turbos and such. I'm disappointed.

Btw, the last time I tried to corner my car at the limit, I ended up wrecking it. I don't plan on taking the lude anywhere near it's limit for a while.

I was looking under 'new posts'. It takes all the threads that have currently been posted in and puts it into one section for all to see, without sorting it. Don't know if you've ever used it.
