I am going to be replacing my vacuum lines due mostly to age and appearance.

Does anyone know the size and a good source for the tubing?
Aproximately how much Length is required to replace all the lines?

The line I have seen locally is washer fluid line and I don't think that is right for the job.

Thanks in advance.:ciao:

Dano I checked the 88-89 2.0 and they are 3.5mm aswell. How does yours fit? perhaps a little loose? at 4mm?

yeah nopi is a little cheaper as their 3.5mm is 85cents a foot. Thanks dano

Thank you

Am I going to run into any issues with the vacuum control box? I have never opened it before.

it is pretty easy to get loose just replace one hose at a time or it will be a big mess to get back on right.

No Cuda..The 4mm fits perfectly tight and is slightly bulged where it fits on the hardline. Yep, one at a time.

There should be no real problem inside the vacuum box. Take a close look at mine and you will see that I left one alone where it goes into the box. The box itself is kind of a pain to take apart. Mine is painted so I had extra pain trying not to damage the paint..

Interesting. Yeah the diameter for the s, 2.0si, and si are all 3.5mm i.d. in the honda parts catalog.

maybe I am missing something. When I looked at nopi they show a picture with all those colors but they only list a few in stock for sale for the 3.5mm?? The only reason I ask is if you are going to show all those colors you should stock all those colors for all the sizes.

I think I will go with verocious motorsports because I know they have all four colors they post and I like the fact that they tell how they are made and the temp range just like performance sound deadner. I will measure the nipples or pipes these go on but it probably won't be until I install them as the old ones might tear or rip trying to remove them before I have my replacement hose.

Edit: Dano I like the color scheme better now much more subtle. I guess on the flipside it looks less like a rainbow or kiddie play ground. I might even paint my air tube silver if I do what you did for cold air intake. It looks good. I like that the actual filter is way back from the front helping prevent the water log by design. I am thinking black hose but may go silver if I take a walk on the wild side and make a intake like yours. I also like how you put color around the H on your valve cover. It looks a lot more sufisticated that way and stands out a lot better on a polished valve cover and less like something forgotten.

I do like the silver, nice finish look. My car is white so I guess any color would do but I haven't decided yet, when I decide how to finish my valve cover (color?) I will decide on the line color.
The 4 mm looks like it fits well I can see where the hose is stretched over the nipples. Maybe the difference in the line size (3.5 , 4) is and ID/OD thing because your vacuum line looks thicker than the stock line.

Thanks for the replies:thefinger_red:

Dano your engine bay looks awesome. I need to get you to come down to Covington and give me an engine bay appearance consultation.

No..it's not ID vs OD. That would make the hose thickness .25mm. :turn: Actually the silver hose is about the same OD as the original stuff. I don't know if you can tell from the pics but, the yellow hose has a larger OD than the silver and the ID for both is the same. Why don't you run over to the Forest Park NOPI store an see the hose in person ? Covington is pretty close to Forest Park isn't it ?

Thanks Dano yeah I can see how it stretches around the nipple of the pipe. It will be nice once someone confirms the 3.5mm. I hate giving bad advice, but the online catalog shows 3.5mm for the b20a3 and b20a5 and ba21 regardless of year between '88-91.

I thought I would Update this I just bought silicone vacuum hose for the windshield washer line. It is 4mm in the honda factory catalog. Thursday night I did lots of searching again. I was about to pay $15 for 10 foot like I normally do from verocious motorsports ebay store. I revisited nopi and they still just had the neon colored crap and silver that they are trying to get rid of at reduced price. It was then that it clicked that they listed the brand name of the vacuum hose and for kicks I googled the name. Found a great site! They have lots of stuff like intercooler silicone elbows and connectors. Its a $1.20 for the 4mm in red, blue, silver and black. But shipping was dirt cheap at about $4.20! Tonight I just checked there site and I am glad I did the hose was 33% off! So I ordered 20 foot for the price of what 16 foot cost the night before or normally. They didn't say why it was onsale and I just checked at 2:20 am or 12:20 am pacific as the company is in california and the sale is no longer there so I guess it was just for halloween. But it is nice to know they do holiday sales. Also was nice getting this premium platinum cured silicone hose same as the ebay store stuff for $.80 cents a foot! They also advertise the statement "that they will beat anybodies prices or its free!" Anyway, here is the link to the vacuum hose page and another link for main page:

I put a filter on my stock line.
No more clogged injectors for me.
A fuel filter for a 1970 vw bug is perfect, costs between 18 cents and five bucks.

I thought I would add that the tee for the washer fluid line under hood is no longer available from Honda. I think after doing some conversion math that a 3/16" "T" will fit perfectly. Oreilly's list it as 4.8mm. It is definetly smaller than 5 mm. I think the slightly bigger size will make for a nice snug connection. As long as you are using silicone hose I doubt there will be a problem. I was also looking for a replacement "T" for the 4ws conversion or stock replacement. It would require two "T's" if available or a four way. If you happen to have one available please measure it and pm me. The clamps are labled d10 and d12. I am not sure if that is the outside diameter of hose or inside diameter of hose. Figure its 10 mm and 12 mm. Just need confirmation.

I bought like 30 feet of silicone vacuum line (3.5mm) from Verocious Motorsports for about $35-$40 shipped. Yes, 30 feet for the PGM-CARB lude and to have some extra for other things.
