Really, you think so? Try finding aftermarket parts for an EK1. The last header I saw on Ebay for an 81 Accord EK1 went for more than a 3g Lude header.tropic81 said:They put the EK1 in the U.S. 1g Ludes. They may have put the EL1 in the Canadian models. Don't know about that. Anyway, for all the trouble you would have with installing a 1g CRX engine you could modify the EK1 to make the same power.
Two questions for you. How much did that all cost ? and could I do that to my EK keep in mind i dont have a job yet (Will soon) and The ek1 is my first cartropic81 said:This is what I've done to my EK1:
EL1 head (ported, polished, shaved 30 thousandths, silicon bronze valve guides, 1mm oversize intake and exhaust valves, racing springs, port matched to intake and header)
296 degree .410 lift cam
HONDO 4 port header
Dual sidedraft intake w/ Webers
Block (bored 30 thousandths, forged pistons and rods, chrome moly rings)
Lightened flywheel
Centerforce clutch
So yes I think. It just takes time to collect the parts. Check w/ the 1g Civic guys. They modify EK1's and transplant them into their cars all the time.
Ya its true my motor is probaly really old im not sure . And im living in BC canadamy82lude said:ok just for fun if your gonna refer to the car in a code at least use its body code (sn1)
and whats the mileage like on your motor? cause theres no point even attempting to mod a tired old motor your just gonna brake things and end up costing yourself more money...
by the way where ya from dude?
