Another lowrider Prelude sighting.. Sorry

Stereotyping mexicans and low-riders would be to say "all Mexicans drive lowriders."

Saying "low-riders have a heritage that is Mexican based" is not stereotyping. It is factually based, not driven by false and careless assumptions.

I'm sorry if using "Mexican" and "low-rider(s)" in the same sentence makes you blush.

Yeah the whole lowrider thing was started by Mexican-Americans in CA, AZ, NM, and TX. Especially California, since the hot-rod thing was starting up, too. (I remember seeing a photo somewhere with Cesar Chavez and a couple of old-school lowriders back in the day) I guess someone took home some industrial-grade hydraulic equipment from work and stuck them on his car one day.

Not all Mexicans drive lowriders, and not all lowriders are driven by mexicans, but you can't deny where it started.

I still think it's kinda cool, though. Hell, there's a lot of people out there who think we're a bunch of retards for hopping up 4-bangers. Who are we to judge someone else's style?

I was thinking the same thing. But I have to disagree with one thing in this post. Even though it may have its roots there, lowriders are no longer a primarily Hispanic following. The Japanese are into lowriders so thick it is not EVEN funny. They have what, 20-30 car shows a year dedicated to lowriders, and Japan is like the size of Florida. That's probably how many lowrider shows there are in all of the USA a year.

Does this guy realize that he is the only one defending that point? Face it, you are totally biased towards your one sided views. Just because you have something against it, you feel the need to judge it. Its not yours, so just say that its not your style and leave it alone. If you try to prove your point, you fail miserably. And come on, would you really walk up to someone and tell them that their car was stupid? I offered to give you my #, and you wouldnt take it. You could have told me that I and my style were stupid. But, you think that just by saying that you dont want it is enough. Really sound like a scared little boy. Sorry. Still think you need that hug.

lol I think topless just mighth need a hug. You take so much offense your the one making your own case look stupid. I if you actually read the thread said that I respect the whole "to each his own" but just dont try and call it unique because theres nothing unique about shoving the same crap on the car that thousands of other people have. and your best comeback was that imports arnt unique because they are usually lowered with nice rims. Problem with that is I never said that they were unique they are in no way unique so you just made your self look bad there man. You may wanna step back and see how your making yourself look. Oh and like 91_2.0_si said you are new here ive been hre for over a year youve been here for a few days your already gettin yourself a bad rep

hahah you guys will argue over the most outrageous things...ok so here is my 3 cents on it.when my dad was younger he was into HP and hotrodding.one time he was working on this low rider friend's car and loned him his car to go get grub.well 15 minutes later my dad was getting a call to the fast food place to come get his car that the low rider guy tried to wrap around a pole.the guy told my dad that he would never drive something like that becouse it was too quick to go, he would rather cruze at low speed lookin styilish.there are to tyoes of moders in the auto world...1 that likes to make there car go hella fast with makin it look styilish secondary......and 1 that wants there car to look hella styilish and doesn't worry about going fast.we all like both worlds but lean towards one or the other more.now lets just get over the wineing about what is better and agree to dissagree in what our OPINION of how a car should be.. nothing wrong with low riders i prefer to go fast.and most people in the prelude world would agree.but there are those few people out there tha just want to make there car look "pimp" even if it means not going faster then 30 mph
